i have been trying to find where elizebeth godwin came from i know she was an indian. i have no luck finding the roots. i love the website. i have been trying to find my heritage from the indian direction. gillie godwin maried john randall parrish. also i want to know if hewell parrish and john randall were related. mollie was hewell and thanies daughter, and peter lawrence was john randell and gillies son. they were both parrishes. i am the daughter of lavelle and dorothy parrish. peter lawrence and mary francis parrish were my grandparents. your help in this will be greatly appreciated. thenk you in advance for your help.

I am looking for any thing on Applewhite Creech married Bettie Peedin. They had a daughter name Valleria that Married George Woodard. Trying to find out who Applewhite's Father and Mother was. They were from Johnston Co. N.C. His name could have been Barna Applewhite Creech but am not sure.

First of all I would like to commend you on all your hard work and time putting this website together. It is absolutely wonderful. I'm emailing you to make a correction for one of the descendents of Whitfield Wood.
I am the granddaughter of Milburn F. Wood. You have posted that Milburn F. Wood married Iva O'Neil and gave birth to 3 children. This is false.
Milburn F. Wood married Allene Stewart on October 31, 1936. Their children were as you have listed, Linda Gale, David L, and Frances Wood (Frances Wood is my mother. However, her name is Mary Frances). Allene was born on September 16, 1917. She died on June 7, 1995 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. The funeral was at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC. Six months after her death, my grandfather, Milburn F. Wood, remarried. His second wife is Iva ONeil.
Please make the corrections necessary to keep my Grandmother's memory and history intact. I will truly appreciate it. If you need any more information concerning this issue, let me know.

I am researching my fathers line;;Parrish. I go back to my gggrandpa, John Par(r)ish of Columnbia Co. Ga. He mar. Sally Phillips. I cannot find his parents or siblings. He may have been born in N.C. and then on to Ga. His son was John Huff Parrish, his grandson was John D. Parrish, his great grandson was Henry G. Parrish, and from them came me...daughter of Henry G. I found LOTS of family names on your website and I think I can provide some expansions on the Lees, Austins, Norris, and Byrds. Where I fit in is I am the granddaughter of Henry Rufus Austin (I think I saw his obit in the Lees documents). My grandmother was Naomi Winifred Norris. I believe Naomi was cousins with Alma Jernigan, who was Gertie Viola Raynor Lee's daughter. It gets mighty confusing sometimes. Anyway, I have from present to Mack Lucian Austin b.? 1828 (my great great grandfather). I cannot find him anywhere in NC before that and I know he was born in NC. I know he registered to vote at age 73 in 1902 in Johnston County. Well, if you can help I would appreciate it. And if I might be able to help someone, just contact me.

Hello! Very interesting website!
I grew up in Johnston County, NC.
While cleaning the homeplace of my
mother's family, I found a very old
photo-a large group picture. I do not have relatives who can identify
persons in the photo. Now I am living in Harnett County--Dunn, NC.
My Mother was a daughter of William Lawrence Adams. Her mother was Mattie Ellen Hudson Adams. Folks tell me that a Parker Family lived at this location before my grandfather purchased it. My family lines are Adams, Hudson, Wood, Raynor.
Any suggestions for identifying people in a very old picture????
